TyAnne Crook
ACMHC
Available in the Sandy Office and over Teletherapy
With experience in multiple helping capacities such as DCFS caseworker, Special Education development director, fitness professional for community health, disability/brain injury advocate, philanthropist, and associate clinical mental health counselor, TyAnne views being trusted enough to help anyone as an honor, and feels privileged to walk with anyone in their wellness journey. She likes identifying each person’s unique strengths and developing skills and insights to complement their needs. She has worked with individuals in accountability programs and court-ordered treatment for domestic violence and substance use. She has also sat with people from a variety of walks of life, each with their own concerns.
As a brain injury caregiver and advocate, TyAnne has unique experience understanding those who deal with concerns that frequently go unacknowledged and are misunderstood. She offers genuine positive regard and a willingness to meet her clients where they are with humility, and understand their complex situation with respect and contemplation to bridge the gap of marginalization. Due to her lived experience, the mental health aspect of the neurorehabilitation process is an area of special interest.
TyAnne’s approach to therapy is person-centered. She draws from her trainings in ACT, CBT, IFS, Motivational Interviewing, and is SYMBIS certified to help each client achieve collaboratively agreed upon goals. As a certified fitness professional, she believes in the power of somatic movement. TyAnne is dedicated to ongoing education to improve the care provided for her clients.
TyAnne uses her free time to travel with her family, try new foods, and make memories in a variety of ways, such as hiking, canyoneering, snow skiing, and volunteering. If she has done one of those things, it is the perfect time to take a nap!
