Alyssa Black
CSW
Available in the Highland Office and over Teletherapy
Alyssa specializes in trauma-informed therapy for individuals and parents. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family Life Studies from Utah State University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Utah.
Prior to clinical therapy, Alyssa worked as a crisis case manager for children, youth, and families—an experience that shaped her compassionate, grounded approach to therapy. She is trained in EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and integrates several evidence-based modalities including DBT, CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Alyssa has a particular interest in supporting parents and individuals navigating perinatal and postpartum challenges, and helping clients process trauma while building practical tools for everyday life.
Alyssa believes therapy works best when clients feel safe, understood, and treated as whole humans—not diagnoses. She strives to create a warm, collaborative space where healing feels possible and clients don’t have to do hard things alone.
Outside of the therapy room, Alyssa enjoys reading, watching shows, creating art, spending time with family, sunshine, naps, petting dogs, and baking (then of course eating) homemade treats.
