Charlene received her Bachelor's degree in Marriage, Family & Human Development from Brigham Young University and her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings and has extensive experience leading groups and fostering a cohesive group environment. Charlene also has experience helping women with relationship concerns, divorce issues, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. She has also worked with individuals experiencing anger issues, eating disorders, emotional management, reactivity issues, spirituality and religious issues, personality disorders, and couples to help foster bonding and connection. She has also received specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. Charlene uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and other evidence-based interventions depending on her client’s needs. Charlene’s focus includes depression, anxiety, anger issues, addiction issues, eating disorders, couples counseling, trauma, relationship & communication problems, self-esteem, sexual abuse, spirituality and religious issues. She has experience working with a variety of ages including children, adolescents and adults; she also offers Videotherapy to accommodate clients who live in rural areas or for those who would prefer this method of therapy. Charlene also specializes in assisting individuals with issues relating to gender identity, same-sex attraction, and other LGBTQ issues. Charlene loves to run and generally be outside as much as possible. She has even climbed Mount Kilimanjaro! She loves playing with her dogs, spending quality time with her sweetheart, reading, and playing the piano.
